DUSHANBE, September 12, Asia-Plus - “Parliament of Afghanistan was established only eight months ago, and therefore experience of work of the Majlisi Oli (Tajikistan’s parliament) is very important for us,” the Afghan National Assembly’s House of People (Wolesi Jirga) Speaker Muhammad Yunus Konuni remarked at his meeting with Saydullo Khairulloyev, Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament), in Dushanbe on September 8.
According to Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, the meeting focused on prospects of cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries. In the course of the talks Khairulloyev briefed Konuni on the activity of the lower house of Tajik parliament.
“Yunus Konuni appreciated Tajikistan’s support for measures to stabilize the situation in Afghanistan,” Sultonov said.
