DUSHANBE, September 13, Asia-Plus - Tajikistan’s State Air Company “Tojikiston” has lowered passenger fares on some flights by more than 30 percent.
According to information from Tajik national air carrier, new rates went into effect September 5 on the air route from Dushanbe to the Russian city of Samara.
The source says a ticket for this flight, previously US$220, now costs US$160. “The introduction of the new rate is connected with seasonal decrease in passenger traffic from Dushanbe to Samara and seasonal increase in passenger traffic from Samara to Dushanbe,” the Asia-Plus interlocutor said. The source did not said what cost of passenger fare from Samara to Tajikistan will be.
“Tajik labor migrants staying in the Russian Federation usually return home in the autumn, and therefore the demand for tickets on the routes from Russian cities to Dushanbe increases during this season,” said the source, “In order to avoid losses and attract passengers we lower prices of air tickets on the flights to Russia in late summer and autumn.”
We will recall that in early August, Tajik national airline lowered passenger fares on the air routes from Dushanbe to other Russian cities and increased passenger fares on the routes from those cities to Dushanbe.
