DUSHANBE, September 19, Asia-Plus - Tajikistan’s Drug Control Agency (DCA) today launched a five-day action to prevent spread of drug addiction and reduce drug demand in Khatlon areas bordering on Afghanistan.
A source in the DCA said that in this connection, a team was set from among representatives from the DCA, ministries of health and culture, committees on youth and women’s affairs, as well as local authorities and known Tajik arties.
“The program consists of two parts: propaganda and entertainment,” said the source, “Various activities such as quizzes and so forth are being organized.”
Besides, they have prepared agitation leaflets and literature of anti-drug nature that will be distributed to people during the action.
Today, participants in the action are meeting with people in the Shahritus district. “During five days the action participants are supposed to cover more than 350 kilometers and visit six border districts,” the Asia-Plus interlocutor concluded.
