DUSHANBE, November 9, Asia-Plus - Today, the Civil Service Administration at the President of Tajikistan is conducting a seminar for senior representatives from the government bodies on a draft concept of civil service reforms in the country.
The concept has been worked out by the Civil Service Administration with support of the Tajikistan Civil Service Reform Support Project funded by the European Union.
According to the European Union Dushanbe Office, this document is the first attempt by the state body of the country to define legal and working aspects of the civil service that impede development of modern civil service in Tajikistan and propose specific measures to remove them. The concept is dedicated to the key objectives and goals, conditions and principles of the civil service reforms. The source said that they had already received comments from the country’s ministries and organizations, and the preliminary assessment is quite positive.
The Civil Service Reform Support Project has worked in Tajikistan since February 2005 and it is expected to be finished in December 2007. The project is funded by the European Union under the TACIS program.
