DUSHANBE, November 29, Asia-Plus - An approximate daily damage that could be caused by a complete cutoff of power supplies to all categories of industrial enterprises in Tajikistan has been estimated at 16 million somonis (equivalent to US$4.7 million), according to the Ministry of Industry.
A source at the ministry said that many large enterprises in the country such as Tajik aluminum plant (TadAZ) have autonomous sources of power and therefore the possible damage will be half the size.
As far as some 160 enterprises subject to the Ministry of Industry are concerned, the possible cutoff of electricity supplies to them may result in the daily damage caused to them being amount to 1.5 million somonis, according to the source.
The source added that over the first ten months of this year, Tajikistan had produced a total of 3.6564 billion somonis’ worth of industrial goods.
