DUSHANBE, January 25, Asia-Plus - A two-day Forum of Persian-language Media will be held in Dushanbe from March 11-12, Adolat Umarova, editor-in-chief of the Dushanbe weekly Millat, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to her, the main objective of the forum is in exploring grounds for development of a single information space of the Persian-speaking people, formation of association of journalists for free and unbiased coverage of events in Tajikistan and abroad as well as life of Tajiks and other Persian-speaking people throughout the world. “Organizers hope that the forum will promote further strengthening of social, cultural, scientific and economic ties between the Persian-speaking peoples,” Umarova said.
“The holding of the first Persian-language Media Forum will facilitate expansion of cultural and economic cooperation between the Persian-language nations,” the Millat editor said, noting that the forum will be held under support of the Tajik Branch of Open Society Institute/Assistance Foundation (OSI/AF).
