DUSHANBE, January 26, Asia-Plus - Tajikistan last year invested 329.8 million somonis in the implementation of joint investment projects, Deputy Finance Minister, Shavkat Sohibov, remarked at a news conference in Dushanbe on January 25.
According to him, 41 investment projects are currently being implemented in the country. “Tajikistan has invested in 34 of them,” the deputy minister said.
“Tajikistan has used loans provided by international financial institutions (201.4 million somonis) and grants (50 million somonis) to invest in these projects,” Sohibov said, noting that the Tajik government’s share is 78.4 million somonis.
“Last year, more than 200 million somonis were provided from the national budget to finance the construction sector, which is 99.9 percent of the target,” the deputy minister said. He added that last year, to finance the construction of all facilities of statewide importance 52.1 million somonis were provided from the national budget, including 3.2 million somonis for the construction of the Anzob tunnel, 1.7 million somonis for the construction of the Shar-Shar tunnel and 33 million somonis for the construction of the Sangtuda-1 power plant.
