DUSHANBE, February 9, Asia-Plus -- An Armed Afghan drug trafficker has been detained in the Farkhor district of Khatlon.
According to the Ministry of Interior (MoI), a 35-year Afghan national Mahmadali valadi Begahmad was detained in a special operation carried out by police in the territory of the village of Muhojirobod. Two hand grenades F-1, three kilograms of heroin and 32 kilograms of hashish were confiscated from the drug trafficker. A source at a MoI said that the operation is ongoing in Farkhor.
In 2006, Tajik police intercepted more than 2,442 kilograms of drugs, with major part of them being heroin.
