DUSHANBE, February 13, Asia-Plus - 24 teachers of the Russian language with Tajik-language schools from Dushanbe, Yovon, Hissor, Rudaki and some other districts were the first to take a 18-day training course at Russian-Tajik Slavic University (RTSU) this year.
Participants in the training attended lectures on pedagogy, psychology, comparative grammar and new methods of teaching. On completion of the training course, they also received literature and methodological supplies necessary for their work.
The training courses for teachers of the Russian language are conducted in Tajikistan under support of the Russian Embassy in Dushanbe. A ceremony of handing certificated to the training participants was held on February 13.
Deputy Education Minister, Irina Karimova, telling the ceremony noted that schools in Tajikistan are experiencing an acute shortages of teachers of the Russian and English languages. According to her, the training is a part of the national program for improvement of the study of the Russian and English languages in Tajikistan designed for 2004-2014.
“Over the past three years, more than 300 teachers of the Russian language with Tajik-language schools have taken the training course,” the deputy minister said. She added that it is planned to open the Center of Russian Culture and the Institute for Raising Professionalism of Teachers of the Russian Language at RTSU.
