DUSHANBE, March 1, Asia-Plus -- Names of two specialists from Tajikistan have been put on register of experts for the CIS award for achievements in the area of quality of products and services.
Zulfiya Yadgarova, an official with Tajik Agency for Standardization, Metrology, Certification and Trade Inspection, Tojikstandart, said that two employees of the Agency had taken course in Minsk, Belarus, on training of experts for the CIS award competition.
“Tajik specialists have participated in this training for the first time and now they will take part in this competition as experts,” Tojikstandart official said, adding that 20 competitively selected specialists from various states of the CIS had taken the training course in Minsk.
According to Yadgarova, these two Tajik specialists now have the right to assess any type enterprises within the CIS area.
The competition for the CIS award in the area of quality of products and services is held once in two years. The main objective of this competition is in supporting national initiatives aimed at a raising quality and competitiveness of products or services offered by CIS states, as well as improving export potentialities of organizations from CIS states, and introducing efficient methods of the quality management.
Three enterprises have represented Tajikistan in the competition for CIS Award 2006/2007. However, only one of them, Khujand-based cellular operator Indigo-Somoncom, has managed to go through the first round of the competition and move up. The competition’s results will be announced before the end of 2007.
