DUSHANBE, April 3, Asia-Plus -- The 4th session of the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC) committee for financial-economic policy will be held in the Russian city of Kazan on April 6.
According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MoEDT), Economic Development and Trade Minister, Ghulomjon Boboyev and Deputy Finance Minister, Shavkat Sohibov, will represent Tajikistan at the meeting.
The source at a MoEDT said that the meeting is aiming to consider macroeconomic models of member nations of the Community and discuss a report by Russia’s center for strategic studies on forecast, main trends of development of economics of the EAEC states for medium-term prospect, challenges and threats, as well as instruments of macroeconomic policy.
The meeting is also scheduled to consider a project for raising efficiency of joint use of energy resources as well as concepts of creation of the single transport space within the EAEC area.
EAEC is the international economic organization, authorized for functions, concerned with the forming of common external customs frontiers of member nations (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan) and for the elaboration of common external policy, common tariffs, prices and other components of common market. EAEC is the assignee of the Customs Union, created in accordance with the principles of the UN and international legislation. In 2003 EAEC has obtained the status of observer in the UN General Assembly.
