DUSHANBE, April 12, Asia-Plus - The present knowledge level of students and teachers at highs schools leaves much to be desired, Education Minister Abdujabbor Rahmonov remarked at a news conference in Dushanbe on April 12.
According the minister, inspections of schools in the Khatlon province have revealed that many senior pupils even cannot read and write.
The minister noted that the commission charged by the president with assessing the professionalism of teachers had vetted teachers at schools across the country. “Some teachers vetted were dismissed,” the minister said.
Speaking to journalists, Rahmonov also dwelled on issues of paid education at some educational facilities in the country. “All payment receipts should be registered and kept at the facility’s account office,” Rahmonov stressed.
The minister added that all necessary information about prices of blank certificates and diplomas given by educational facilities in the country will be published in media.
