QURGHON TEPPA, April 13, Asia-Plus -- Over the first quarter of 2007, the revenue part of the Qurghon Teppa city budget has amounted to 2.26 million somonis, Qurghon Teppa Mayor Ruqiya Qurbonova announced at a news conference in Qurghon Teppa on April 12.
According to her, 2.89 million somonis have been collected in taxes over the report period, which is 560,000 more than in the same period of 2006. “However, a total amount of tax debts has remained the same – 2.168 million somonis,” the mayor said, noting that tax debts of local industrial enterprises have amounted to 1.892 million somonis.
The most incorrigible nonpayers are the open joint-stock company Umed (602,000 somonis), transformer-producing plant (146,000 somonis), cotton-spinning factory Al-Jazeera Co (468,000 somonis) and Ravghani Khatlon (158,000 somonis).
Qurbonova noted that although Qurghon Teppa has produced a total of 6.6 million somonis worth of industrial goods over the first three months of the year, which is 450,000 somonis more than in January-March 2006, the present work of the city’s industrial enterprises does not meet requirements.
She added that an average monthly wage in the city’s industrial sector over the report period has been 114 somonis, which is fewer than an average monthly wage for the city (143 somonis).
