DUSHANBE, April 17, Asia-Plus - Officers from the Drug Control Agency (DCA) at the Dushanbe airport have stopped an attempt by drug trafficker to transport heroin to Moscow.  

According to the counternarcotics agency, their officers yesterday stopped an attempt by resident of the Tursunzoda district to internally smuggle narcotics into Moscow. 

The drug courier attempted to conceal 500 grams of heroin in his stomach, the source said.   

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained drug courier and an investigation is under way.  

Over the past three months, officers from DCA in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies of the country have intercepted more than 1,314 kilograms of drugs, which is 9,8 percent than in the same period of last year.
