DUSHANBE, April 24, Asia-Plus - The CIS council of foreign ministers will meet in the Kazakh capital city of Astana on April 25 to discuss activities of the CIS council for cultural cooperation and the interstate council for emergency management, press release issued by the CIS executive committee said.
The meeting will also consider a progress of the implementation of the plan of multi-level consultations between MFAs in 2006 and the plan of consultations for 2007.
The ministers are also scheduled to consider documents concerning activity of the peacekeeping force in Abkhazia. The CIS council of defense ministers, in particular, submitted to the CIS council of foreign ministers the issue on the commander of those forces for making final decision, press release said.
The meeting will also consider draft documents regulating organization of interaction between the border and other agencies of the CIS states on providing assistance in case of crisis situations on the external borders.
If the CIS foreign ministers endorse the issues related to training of personnel, cooperation in the filed of education, joint production of films, creation of the council of heads of state-run and public TV and radio organizations, they will be submitted for further consideration to the CIS council of prime ministers.
The foreign ministers will also discuss the agenda of a meeting of the council of heads of government of CIS states that will be held in Yalta, Ukraine, on May 25.
