DUSHANBE, May 23, Asia-Plus -- Tajik State Air Company TajikAir has cut down passenger fares on flights from Dushanbe and Khujand to Moscow.
According to Tajik national air carrier, passenger fares on flights Dushanbe-Moscow have been brought down for economic class from $389 to $349 and for business class from $544 to $523, with similar rate decrease on the flights from Khujand to Moscow.
The source at TajikAir said that the new rates on the routes from Dushanbe and Khujand to Moscow went into effect on May 22.
In the meantime, passenger fares on the flights from Moscow to Dushanbe have remained the same - 184 euros (equivalent to some $229) for economic class and 283 euros (equivalent to some $354) for business class. “We will gradually bring passenger fares on flights from Dushanbe to Moscow down to these rates,” the source said.
Usually, the introduction of the new rate is connected with a seasonal increase in passenger traffic from Dushanbe to Moscow and seasonal decrease increase in passenger traffic from Moscow to Dushanbe.
We will recall that the government on September 6, 2006 passed the resolution “On the State Unitary Enterprise Tojikiston." The resolution renamed the carrier TajikAir and granted it a new charter. The resolution allows the company to set flexible fares on international air routes by itself, depending on the season and passenger traffic volume, without consulting the antimonopoly commission
