KULOB, May 25, Asia-Plus -- Mahmadsidiq Saidov, the head of the Social-Democratic Party (SDPT) for Kulob, has announced his resignation.
Saidov remarked this at a briefing in Kulob on May 25.
Speaking to journalists, Saidov said that he had tried to develop activity of the party in the region for three years but the central board of the party had not created any conditions for that.
“Besides, I do not like that SDPT does not pay a proper attention to issues related to raising national self-consciousness and tackling everyday problems facing ordinary people,” Saidov said, noting that the party does not have influence on the population in Kulob.
“Over the past three year, only 12 people have expressed wish to join SDPT; however, only four of them have joined the party,” Saidov said.
Asia-Plus’ Turko Dikayev for Kulob says SDPT has no luck at Kulobis. “At the conference for creating the party’s regional organization for the Khatlon province, Kulobis have been elected leaders of the party’s regional organization for Khatlon but practically a week later, all of them sent in their resignations and the Khatlon regional organization is currently incapable,” said Dikayev, ”Now, SDPT is losing control over the city of Kulob as well.”
