DUSAHNBE, June 7, Asia-Plus - The 17th session of the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC) council of the heads of central banks that was held in June 7 brought together national bank heads from Tajikistan, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyztan, Uzbekistan, as well as Kazakhstan’s Agency for Regulating and Supervising Financial Market and Financial Organizations, Eurasian Development Bank and the EAEC Integration Committee, according to the National bank of Tajikistan (NBT).
The source at a NBT said session considered issues related to monetary cooperation between member nations of the Community as well as a progress of implementation of resolutions passed at the 16th session.
The session also discussed the issue of international money transfers, approaches to organization of management of transaction risks, practice of formation of reserves in the case of possible losses and other issues being of mutual interest.
The EAEC national bank heads also considered draft recommendations on development of a structure of monetary and currency markets of the EAEC member nations.
The session also heard a report of Kyrgyzstan’s national bank on the main directions of cooperation in production of banknotes, development of numismatic market and fight against production of counterfeit banknotes designed for 2006-2010.
Tajikistan and Belarus have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoI) on banking control cooperation on sidles of the EAEC national bank heads in Dushanbe, the source said.
