DUSHANBE, June 25, Asia-Plus - Dushanbe mayor’s office has projected a plan of cultural activities to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the National Peace Accord, which is marked in Tajikistan on June 27.
Peace agreement that effectively ended Tajikistan’s civil war signed by Tajik government and UTO (United Tajik Opposition) in Moscow on June 27, 1997.
Shahlo Mousoyeva, chairwoman of the culture department of the Dushanbe mayor’s office, said that a gala concert entitled “Vahdati Dilho” (Unity of Hearts) with participation of known Tajik singers and music groups will be held at Dushanbe’s Amphitheatre on June 27.
Besides, members of the Dushanbe organization of the Movement for National Unity and Revival of Tajikistan (MNURT), known in Tajik a the Harakati Vahdati Milli va Ehyoi Tojikiston, MPs and members of the Dushanbe legislature (Majlis) will hold meetings at enterprises and organizations in four districts of Dushanbe ahead of the National Accord Day.
A scientific conference formally titled “National Unity and Public Accord” will be held in the City Lohouti Library. An exhibition of books and canvases dedicated to the National Peace Accord will open at library on sidelines of the conference.
The races dedicated to the holiday will be organized at the Dushanbe hippodrome on June 27.
