DUSHANBE, July 9, Asia-Plus — Customs officers at the Pakhtaobod railway station in the Tursunzoda district have stopped an attempt by drug courier to transport heroin to Russia.
According to Tajikistan’s Customs Service, their officers seized more than seven kilograms of heroin at the Pakhtaobod railway station last Friday [July 6].
The source at the customs service said that an inspection of passengers on the rail route Dushanbe-Moscow had found 7.085 kilograms of heroin hidden in a pail with grilled meat belonging to the 48-year-old resident of Dushanbe M.D.
Criminal proceedings hav been instituted against him and an investigationis under way.
