DUSHANBE, July 30, Asia-Plus — Present economic and financial state of Tajikistan was discussed at a July 27 government session presided over by President Emomali Rahmon, according to presidential press service. 

Senior representatives from the government, heads of a number of ministries and organizations, as well as representatives from president’s offices and Dushanbe mayor’s office attended the meeting.

Abdufattoh Sharifzoda, a spokesman for the president, said the meeting had also considered issues related to preparations for holding Days of Tajik Culture in Kazakhstan.      

Having heard information about production, import and export of farm produce and all types of food products, the president ordered the ministry of agriculture, academy of agricultural sciences, and consumers’ union Tojikmatlubot to take adequate measures to ensure increase in production of local products, organize repeated sowing campaign on the irrigation lands, and properly provide consumer market with goods.  

The head of state also ordered to create necessary conditions in order that farmers themselves could also realize their products on the city and district markets.  

Energy and Industries Minister Sherali Gulov reported on measures taken to stock up fuels for the winter period and organize shops for selling coal and liquefied gas in all regions of the country, the spokesman said.
