DUSHANBE, August 1, Asia-Plus — The Dushanbe branch of Tajikistan red Crescent Society (RCS) has conduced a series of seminars n issues of preventing infectious diseases for volunteers and activists of RCS working in the Orom and Sahbo communities in Dushanbe.
Madina Sayfiddinova, information officer with RCS, told Asia-Plus that the main objective of the seminars was to raise the infectious diseases awareness among the population and raise skills on providing the first aid and preventing the most frequently-occurring infectious diseases and injures.
“The seminar participants will organize training meetings with participation of residents of those communities,” the information officer said, noting that the seminars will allow decreasing the rate of infectious diseases.
She added that the seminars were part of the Communities Development Project, which will be finished in December this year. According to her, the project sponsored by the Finnish Red Cross is aimed at improving living conditions of the communities through mobilization of efforts of the population.
