DUSHANBE, August 10, Asia-Plus -- On Thursday August 9, another independent FM radio – Imrouz (Today) – went on the air in Tajikistan on the frequency of 107.4 FM.
Imrouz broadcast its programs only in the Tajik language. According to the Radio Imrouz director Rustam Joni, journalists working for the radio have taken special training course. The radio runs news bulletins in Tajik and plays mainly from Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Iran, the Imrouz director said.
Joni added that the project had been implemented by the Orien-Media company.
10 FM radio stations now function in Tajikistan: Imrouz, Radioi Tojikistion, Sadoi Dushanbe, Asia-Plus; Vatan; Asia FM; Ovozi Tojik; Russkoye Radio-Oryono; Tiroz; and Tiroz-Plus.
