DUSHANBE, August 14, Asia-Pus -- On Monday August 13, Mansour Sayfiddinov was relieved of his post of editor-in-chief of an official newspaper of the People’s Democratic Party (PDPT), Minbari Khalq (People’s Tribune), in connection with transfer to other job.
The source at a PDPT central executive committee said that Sayfiddinov had headed the party since December 2003. He was replaced by Abdusamad Mahmadkarimov, formerly head of the propagation and information department at the PDPT central executive committee.
Abdusamad Mahmadkarimov, 57, was born in the Boysoun district, Uzbekistan. He graduated from the Moscow University.
Minbari Khalq has been published since 1994 and has the largest circulation (more than 24,000 copies). The newspaper is published twice a week and distributed throughout the country.
