DUSHANBE, August 24, Asia-Plus – Kazinform – Compared to January-June 2006, rise in the volume of production of industrial goods in the CIS countries over the first half-year of 2007 has averaged nine percent, Kazakhstan’s national news agency Kazinform said, referring to the CIS Committee for Statistics.
Over the same six-month period, Azerbaijan has topped the CIS states in terms of rise in the volume of production of industrial goods. The volume of production of industrial goods in Azerbaijan rose 35.6 percent in the year to July 1, 2007, in Ukraine – 11.8 percent, Uzbekistan – 11.6 percent.
Tajikistan with a 9-percent rise stands in the fourth place fourth among the CIS states in terms of the volume of production of industrial goods.
Russia and Belarus with a 7.7 percent rise shared the fifth place.
In Kazakhstan, the volume of production of industrial goods over the report period has risen by 6.8 percent, in Kyrgyzstan – by 3.1 percent, and in Armenia – by 1.4 percent.
In January-June 2007, the lowest rise in the volume of production of industrial goods has been reported in Moldova – 0.3 percent.
The highest inflation has been reported in Azerbaijan – 8.8 percent. In Russia, inflation stood at 5.7 percent, in Kazakhstan - 4.6 percent, in Kyrgyzstan – 4.6 percent, Ukraine – 4.2 percent, Georgia – 4.1 percent, Armenia – 3.9 percent, Moldova – 3.9 percent, Belarus – 3.6 percent.
In Tajikistan, inflation for the first six months of 2007 stood at 3.5 percent.
