DUSHANBE, August 30, Asia-Plus — Substation Lolazor, being constructed in the Danghara district, is expected to be finished in December, Qurbon Toshev, the head of the group Vostok (East) at Barqi Tojik (Tajik electric systems) power holding, supervising construction of the power grid Lolazor-Khatlon, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, geological survey of the site for construction of the substation has been completed and some 80 percent of all necessary equipment has been delivered to the site. The transformer is expected to be delivered from China in September.
Some 150 Chinese and 18 Tajik specialists are currently working on construction this substation.
Toshev added that the substation Khatlon is being constructed in the Mouminobod district. 160 Chinese and 10 Tajik specialists are working on the site for the substation Khatlon.
We will recall that Tajik Barqi Tojik power holding and China’s TVEA signed a contract on the construction of high-voltage electricity transmission line Lolazor-Khatlon in Dushanbe on April 19, 2006. The sides agreed to build a 220-kilovolt 93-kilometer line “Lolazor-Khatlon in the Khatlon province. The Lolazor-Khatlon project costs $59 million.
