DUSHANBE, October 3, Asia-Plus -- Energy and Industries Minister Gul Sherali will co-chair the Tajik-Turkmen intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation on the part of Tajikistan, Asia-Plus has learned at the department for foreign economic ties of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MoEDT).
The source at a MoEDT said that an agreement on the establishment of the Tajik-Turkmen economic commission would probably be signed during Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov’s visit to Tajikistan.
“The establishment of the commission for trade and economic cooperation will be the first step towards more close and large-scale cooperation between our nations in the field of economy,” the source said.
In the meantime, Turkmenistan.ru cited Turkmen president’s press service as saying that for the purpose of expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov had signed an order confirming a membership of Turkmen part of the Tajik-Turkmen commission for trade and economic cooperation. Energy and Industries Minister Gurbannour Annaveliyev has been appointed to co-chair the commission on the part of Turkmenistan.
