DUSHANBE, October 3, Asia-Plus - On Tuesday October 2, Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) head Sharif Said met with Turkish Ambassador to Tajikistan Akif Aikhan.
The CCI press service said that the two discussed issues related to economic and trade cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkey. The sides, in particular, discussed the possibility of holding of a business forum with participation of Tajik and Turkish entrepreneurs in Dushanbe next summer.
During the meeting, Said noted that Turkey has a good experience in creation of free economic zones, the press service said. “We would like to consult Turkish colleagues on creation of such zones in Tajikistan,” Said was cited as saying.
Said and Aikhan also considered issues related to investing in Tajikistan’s economy, launching joint ventures, and training personnel for Tajikistan at Turkish higher educational institutions.
The Tajik CCI head said that he is going to attend a business forum of exporters and importers of building materials that will be held in Turkey on October 24-25 and the 8th session of the General Assembly of the ECO Chambers of Commerce and Industries.
According to the CCI press service, in the course of the talks Turkish diplomat asked Sharif Said for assistance in tackling the visa processing problems that is simplifying procedure of issuing visas to Turkish businessmen as well as increasing a number of flights between Tajikistan and Turkey that according to him, will promote further expansion of business cooperation between the two countries.
