DUSHANBE, November 15, Asia-Plus -- The 2008 budget projects expenditure of 255.759 million somonis on the health sector, which is 5.7 percent of the budget allocations, Saidali Hofizov, the head of economic analysis department of the Ministry of Health (MoH), said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, of these funds, 102.561 million somonis will go to paying wages of medical workers, 7.563 million somonis will be used for providing food products for hospitals, and 12.759 million somonis are earmarked for purchasing medicines.
“Besides, 12.058 million somonis are earmarked for major repairs to medical facilities, 6,422 million somonis will be spent for purchasing medical equipment and 9.3 million somonis are earmarked to pay communal services” the MoH official said.
