KHOROG, November 22, Asia-Plus -- A new building of isolation department with a total 80 beds at the GBAO regional hospital is expected to have been put into operation by December 1, Asia-Plus has learned from Shodi Jamshedov, head physician of the GBAO regional hospital.
According to him, funds to construct the building have been provided from the national budget and appropriate medical equipment has been purchased through the mediation of the Khujand-based firm Medservice.
Jamshedov added that major repairs to seven other departments of the hospital are under way.
Under the GBAO socioeconomic development program a new maternity house with a total of 90 beds, diagnostic center and first aid center will be built at the regional hospital in the coming two-three years.
