DUSHANBE, November 25, Asia-Plus - Entrepreneurs from Iran’s Gulistan province intend to launch joint ventures in Tajikistan to produce chips and tomato paste from local raw materials, Asia-Plus has learned at the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI).
The source at a MoEI said an appropriate memorandum of cooperation between the MoEI and Iran’s Gulistan Province was singed during a visit of the deputy governor of Iran’s Gulistan Province Said Muhammad Moussavi to Dushanbe on November 1.
“The Iranian side proposed to construct a factory in Tajikistan that would produce chips from local potatoes,” said the source, “Besides, Iranian entrepreneurs also proposed to build a factory for producing tomato paste from local tomatoes.”
Iranians are currently seeking areas in Tajikistan for growing potatoes and tomatoes, the source said.
