DUSHANBE, December 3, Asia-Plus  -- 9,048 Russian nationals staying in Tajikistan came to ballot boxes on December 2 to cast vote in elections to Russia’s State Duma (Russian lower chamber of parliament), Ruslam Shemelin, acting Press Attaché, Russian Embassy in Dushanbe, said. 

According to him, 7,787 people or 86% of those cast vote voted for Putin’s United Russia.  

Poling stations were opened in Dushanbe (2), Khujand (1), Kulob (1), Qurghon Teppa (1) and Norak (1).  

480 people or 5% voted for the Liberal Democratic Party (LDPR), 460 or 5% for the Communist Party and 95 or 1 percent voted for A Fair Russia Party, the press attaché said.  

Preliminary According to preliminary official data, the United Russia of President Vladimir Putin has secured more than 60% of the vote in Sunday''s election.  

Only two other pro-Kremlin parties – LDPR and A Fair Russia, and the opposition Communists appeared to have got sufficient votes to pass the threshold needed for seats in the Duma.

According to preliminary data, the Communist Party received 11.7%, the ultranationalist Liberal Democratic Party 8.4%, and A Fair Russia gathered 8% of the vote.
