DUSHANBE, December 17, Asia-Plus -- Trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and China’s Xinjiang-Uighur Autonomous Region (XUAR) was a major topic of a meeting of Sharif Said, head of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), with the XUAR vice-governor Hu Wei (phonetically spelled), which was held in Dushanbe on December 14, CCI press service said.
In the course of the talks the two discussed priorities of trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and China’s XUAR. The CCI head outlined Tajikistan’s sectors like energy, mining, housing and road building, light industry, health and tourism as areas requiring investments.
For his part, the XUAR vice-governor invited Tajik entrepreneurs to attend the 18th international exhibition-fair that would be held in Urumqi, the capital of the Xinjiang-Uighur Autonomous Region, in 2008.
