DUSHANBE, January 5, Asia-Plus -- 30 non-government gymnasiums, 12 non-government lyceums and 9 private schools with totaling 20,817 pupils now function in Tajikistan, Noilsho Nouraliyev, a spokesman for the Ministry of Education (MoE), said.
According to him, tuition fee is set in accordance with an agreement signed between parents and the educational facility. The tuition fee is determined by the school administration on the basis of services offered by the educational facility (hot meal, transport and so forth). The spokesman stressed that the tuition fee should be set in compliance with provisions of the document on paid education signed by the ministries of education, economy, finance and justice in 2005.
Survey conducted by the MoE shows that level of knowledge of students at private and non-government educational facilities is higher than of those studying at general schools.
