DUSHANBE, January 10, Asia-Plus  -- The Tajik Journalists’ Union board yesterday sent a letter to press services of ministries and organizations suggesting that they should give their quarterly new conferences in one place.  

Tajik Journalists’ Union proposes to consider the possibility of holding of the news conferences in its conference hall.    

The letter also noted that experience of the previous years “shows the necessity of more detailed approach to organization and holding of this socially significant event.”   

Ministries and other government institutions will give quarterly news conferences to report on the results of work carried out in October-December 2007 from January 11 to January 28. 

We will recall that the president on March 4, 2005 signed a decree obligating ministers, department heads, and local officials to give quarterly news conferences.  They are also to submit detailed information to the head of president’s office within three days after holding of news conferences.
