DUSHANBE, January 29, Asia-Plus  -- To improve the power supply situation in the country specialists from Barqi Tojik (Tajik electric systems) power holding jointly with representatives from local authorities are inspecting enterprises for compliance with energy safety requirements, Asia-Plus has learned at Barqi Tojik power holding.  

The source at Barqi Tojik said that electricity supplies will be cut off to enterprises that have common with residential buildings transformers.  Moreover, all power consumers in the country should be reregistered, according to him.  

Henceforth, all state-run and private facilities should have their own substations and transformers separate from transformers and substations supplying electrical power to residential buildings.   

In January alone, some 800 transformers became unserviceable in Dushanbe and Barqi Tojik spent more than $1 million for replacing them, the source said.
