DUSHANBE, February 13, Asia-Plus -- Bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Egypt was focus of a meeting of Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi with visiting Deputy Foreign Minister of Egypt Samir Abdullah Khalil that was held in Dushanbe on February 12, according to the Tajik MFA information department.
In the course of the talks, the two discussed a broad range of issues related to cooperation between Tajikistan and Egypt both in bilateral and multilateral format. Both sides noted that President Rahmon’s visit to Egypt in February 2007 had given a new impulse to expansion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
They also discussed the possibility of training of Tajik personnel in Egypt for creating free economic zones (FEZs) in Tajikistan.
During the meeting it was noted that public health and agrarian sector could be priorities of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Tajik minister invited Egyptian specialist to take part at international conference to discuss water-related disaster risk reduction that will be held in Dushanbe on June 27-28.
