KULOB, February 21, Asia-Plus -- In Khatlon’s Kulob region, eleven persons have been hospitalized on suspicion of having contracted typhoid, Emomali Bobokhonov, the head physician of the Kulob center for epidemiological and sanitary supervision, said.
In all, 50 persons are currently in the Kulob isolation hospital, according to him. “27 of them, including 18 children under 14-year-old, suffer from Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI),” the head physician.
“Special medical teams are currently working in the region to examine local population for various virus diseases and typhoid,” said Bobokhonov, “More than 70 people have to date been examined for typhoid.”
