DUSHANBE, February 21, Asia-Plus -- A special lab for testing telecommunications products for compliance with requirements of standard documentation has been established at the Communications Regulatory Agency (CRA) within the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC), the lab chairperson Mukhtifa Kouziyeva said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to her, suppliers of mobile phones and other telecommunications products should apply to the lab for certification. “We will determine safety and quality indices of the telecommunications products and grant certificates,” Kouziyeva said, noting that the lab is dedicated to determine compliance of products’ technical parameters with technical requirements of Tajikistan’s telecommunications networks and standard requirements.
In accordance with the country’s law on electric telecommunications, all electric telecommunications products are subject to certification for compliance with Tajik standards as well as international standards and standards of other countries, which are recognized by Tajikistan on the basis of bilateral agreements, the lab chairperson said.
