DUSHANBE, March 3, Asia-Plus - Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko is expected to pay an official visit to Tajikistan on March 6-7.
Davlat Nazri, the head of the MFA information department, told Asia-Plus that Yushchenko is scheduled to hold talks with President Emomali Rahmon on March 7. Their meeting will be followed by negotiations in an enlarged format with participation the delegations of the two countries. The negotiations are supposed to result in signing of a number of bilateral cooperation agreements.
During his stay in Tajikistan, Ukrainian president is also scheduled to hold talks with Saydullo Khairulloyev, speaker of the lower house of the Tajik parliament, and visit the Norak hydroelectric power station (HPS).
We will recall that President Yushchenko was supposed to pay an official visit to Tajikistan on November 5-7, 2007 already. The visit was postponed until November 26-27 because of urgent state matters. However, the visit scheduled for November 26-27, 2007 was also postponed for uncertain term.
