DUSHANBE, March 4, Asia-Plus -- On Tuesday March 4, Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament), Saydullo Khairulloyev, met with Turkmen Ambassador to Tajikistan, Ahmed Qurbanov.
Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, said that in the course of the talks the two had discussed a broad range of issues related to bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, Tajik speaker noted that relations between the two countries have developed over the past several years and the first official visit of Turkmen President Qurbanguly Berdymukhammedov to Tajikistan had given a new impulse to further expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
Khairulloyev noted that the Majlisi Namoyandagon was interested in expanding cooperation with the Turkmen parliament and note that speaker or deputies of the Turkmen parliament might visit Tajikistan at any time, the spokesman said.
