DUSHANBE, March 11, Asia-Plus -- Over the first two months of this year, the microloan lender Humo has provided 3,622,582 n somonis (TSJ) in loans to the population, which is 2.3 times more than in the same period of last year (1.5534 million somonis), the Humo executive director, Ms. Maqsuda Vaisova, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
“We have provided loans mainly to farmers for planting agricultural crops,” the executive director said, noting that over the report period, more than 550,400 somonis have been provided in agricultural loans.
In the meantime, Humo’s active portfolio has to date amounted to 10 million somonis. Humo currently works in 17 districts and has more than 4,800 active clients, including 2,132 women.
