DUSHANBE, March 14, Asia-Plus -- President Emomali Rahmon delivered a statement at the 11th summit of the Organization of the Islamic Conference in Dakar, Senegal on March 13.
According to presidential press service, addressing the summit, the Tajik president called for establishment of thorough efficient cooperation among Muslim countries.
He, in particular, called on the advanced Muslim states to support developing Muslim countries through working out long-term development program and strategy for Muslim countries. To implement the mentioned program and strategy the Tajik head of state offered to establish the Muslim Countries Development Support Fund
Besides, Emomali Rahmon proposed to intensify operations of the OIC specialized institutions such as Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and Islamic States Broadcasting Organization (ISBO) in Muslim countries in order to provide to Muslim countries an access to the state-of-the-art information technologies in cooperation with the United Nations.
The Tajik president also seconded an initiative of Saudi Arabia to establish International Antiterrorist Center and proposed to work out a joint anti-terror strategy in cooperation with the United Nations. He also suggested that a number of events of that organization would be held in Dushanbe, the presidential press service said.
