DUSHANBE, March 25, Asia-Plus -- Over the past week, officers from the Ministry of Interior (MoI) have intercepted more than 221 kilograms of drugs.
The source at a MoI said that the totaled included 70 kilograms of heroin, 54 kilograms of raw opium and the rest was marijuana.
A large amount of narcotic drug was seized by local police in Khujand, Sughd province on March 20.
“Following information received, our officers detained a sedan Volga in Khujand and more than 26 kilograms of raw opium were detained from two passengers, who proved to be residents of Dushanbe and Kulob,” the MoI source said.
Over the first two months of this year, Tajik law enforcement agencies have intercepted more than one ton of drugs.
