DUSHANBE, March 28, Asia-Plus -- A meeting of Tajik Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi with his Russia counterpart Sergey Lavrov that was held in Moscow on March 27 resulted in signing of the program of cooperation for 2008.
In the course of the talks the two discussed state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation in political, economic and humanitarian spheres based, which is based on principles of allied and strategic partnership.
Zarifi and Lavrov also exchanged views on problems of raising effectiveness of activity of the CIS and further development and strengthening of regional cooperation.
The ministers noted that the two countries share similar stances on the issues related to providing stability and security in Central Asia as well as international problems being of mutual interest, Russia’s MFA press service said.
Both sides vowed to boost further coordination of efforts of MFA’s of the two countries both on bilateral level and within international organizations.
In the meantime, Tajik MFA information department said that Hamrokhon Zarifin yesterday also met with Tajik students studying in Moscow.
