DUSHANBE, April 9, Asia-Plus -- A regional conference of France’s ambassadors to the CIS states will be held in Dushanbe from April 10-12.
According to the French Embassy in Dushanbe, French Minister Bernard Kouchner will preside over the French ambassadors’ regional conference in Dushanbe.
As it had been reported earlier, Mr. Kouchner is arriving in Tajikistan on April 11 for a two-day visit. The purpose of the visit is for Mr. Kouchner to hold talks with his Tajik counterpart Hamrokhon Zarifi and President Emomali Rahmon to discuss prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between France and Tajikistan. During his stay in Dushanbe, Bernard Kouchner will also take part in an opening ceremony of new French Embassy in Dushanbe.
The French Embassy said that the visit of France’s Foreign Minister that is held three months before France will take over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union is aimed at strengthening of political dialogue that France and Tajikistan have maintained at the highest level for many years.
