DUAHNBE, April 11, Asia-Plus  -- A number of foreign countries have already allotted education permits to Tajikistan for this year, Education Minister Abdujabbor Rahmonov told reporters yesterday.  

According to him, Turkey has allotted Tajikistan a quota of 30 students, Russia has allotted 70 education permits and China has allotted 40 education permits for this year.  

“We are currently waiting for education permits from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Iran,” the minister said.   

The issue of allotment of education permits by Ukraine should be solved in the near future, during the minister’s visit to Kiev.   “We have already received the preliminary consent of the Ukrainian side to allotting education permits,” Rahmonov said, adding that Belarus is already to allot education permits to Tajikistan.  

Speaking to reporters, the minister added that they are currently negotiating the issue of opening branches of Moscow and St. Petersburg State Universities, Moscow State Technical University named after Bauman and Russia’s Civil Aviation Academy.
