KHUJAND, April 12, Asia-Plus -- Over the first quarter of this year, three residents of the Sughd province have been detained in the Russian Federation on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking, the Khujand prosecutor Khairullo Saidov remarked at a press conference in Khujand on April 11.
According to him, 673 grams of drugs have been confiscated from them.
“Last year, 65 residents of Sughd were detained outside the country and totaling 67.134 kilograms of drugs were confiscated from them,” said the prosecutor. “45 of them were arrested in Russia, 17 in Uzbekistan and three in Kazakhstan.”
