DUSHANBE, June 3, Asia-Plus  - the third international light industry exhibition, InterLegProm-2008, will be held in Dushanbe from 7-10, according to Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI).

The exhibition is staged by the Government of Tajikistan, CCI, Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI) and the Republican Committee of Trade Unions for Employees of Textile and Light Industry.

The CCI source said that more than 25 companies from Tajikistan, Russia, Iran, Turkey and other countries are expected to attend the exhibition.  They will put on display their achievements in light industry at the fair in Dushanbe.    

Roundtable meeting to discuss prospects and opportunities of use of local raw materials by enterprises of Tajik light industry will be held on sidelines of the exhibition, the source said.  

The first international light industry exhibition was held in Dushanbe on June 8-11, 2006, and more than 30 companies from Tajikistan, Iran and India participated in that exhibition that was dedicated to a Day of Light Industry Workers, 15th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence and the 2,700th anniversary of the establishment of the city of Kulob.
