DUSHANBE, July 8, 2008, Asia-Plus  -- Cooperation prospects were a major topic of a meeting of Sharif Said, head of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), with Igor Yenov, director of the Chelyabinsk engineering-technical center, Priborservice, that was held in Dushanbe on July 7, the CCI press service said.  

Senior representatives of the Russian company arrived in Tajikistan to offer cooperation in various fields, the press service said.

Yenov, in particular, noted that his company could supply flow meters, tubes, various municipal engineering, equipment for waste-water treatment, etc.  Priborservice is also ready to deliver special furniture for Tajik army and penitentiary facilities.

For his part, Sharif Said pointed to the necessity of establishing a center in Tajikistan for coordinating business cooperation with Russia’s Chelyabinsk region.  The CCI head added that Tajikistan could organize the supply of fruits and vegetables, as well as juices and canned fruits to Chelyabinsk, but for this, it is necessary launch a joint fruit-processing enterprise in Tajikistan.  

During the meeting, Yenov also proposed to enhance a system of vocational-technical education in the country.  

During his stay in Tajikistan, Yenov also intends to hold meetings with senior representatives of Tajik Aluminum Company (Talco) and Isfara hydrometallurgy plant, according to the CCI press service.
